General Facilities Maintenance Technician – Walmart Stores

What you’ll do

Execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, or fixtures. Operate under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, conduct inspections, cleaning, and repairs.

Position Requirements
  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
  • Move up and down ladders frequently
  • Comfortable working at heights frequently
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Able to work in various temperatures
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report
  • Vocational or technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and hand/power tools
  • Use the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities
  • Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
  • Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
  • Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely

Minimum Qualifications
  • Option 1:
    Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
  • Option 2: 4 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
  • License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
  • Reading and speaking English language required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years
