Job Summary
Long‑term Substitute Learning Support Teacher at Upper Adams School District. This role supports learning needs in a substitute capacity while maintaining curriculum standards and student engagement.
Requirements- PA certification preferred:
Special Education, PK‑12. Other PA subject certifications require an emergency permit application with PDE upon hire. - Non‑certified applicants:
Classroom management experience and a minimum of a conferred bachelor’s degree. Applicants must agree to pursue an emergency teaching permit if hired as a long‑term substitute.
$125.00 per day for the first 20 days. After 20 days of employment, compensation increases to $150.00 per day. Pay for the 21st day is retroactive to the first day of teaching at the $150.00 rate.

Job Duties & Responsibilities- Collaborate with staff to facilitate the process and support building operations.
- Participate in the overall school program and exhibit enthusiasm, dependability, punctuality, and consistent attendance.
- Maintain professional conduct and serve as a role model for students.
- Adhere to Pennsylvania state and federal educational laws, the Child Protective Services Act, and collective bargaining agreement provisions.
- Enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies while maintaining confidentiality.
- Communicate cooperatively with administrators,, students, staff, and the public.
- Contribute to curriculum review and redesign as required.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and comply with state continuing education regulations.
- Integrate district regulations and the Comprehensive Plan into instructional programs.
- Develop and maintain accurate written records and reports within established timelines.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to achieve lesson objectives and extend learning beyond the classroom.
- Diagnose and evaluate student progress to develop effective instructional strategies and provide timely feedback.
- Employ appropriate technology relevant to the curriculum taught.
- Create a multicultural classroom environment that values diversity.
- Promote a constructive approach to conflict resolution.
- Accommodate students with IEPs, service plans, action plans, or other approved adaptations in accordance with applicable laws.
- Demonstrate concern for each student’s educational needs, including evaluation for exceptional or special education needs.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Sit for extended periods.
- Lift 15–30 pounds moderately.
- Move up to 30 pounds as needed.
- Use office equipment and computer keyboard.
- Communicate effectively in all aspects of the job.
