RTMSD is hiring for long‑term and extended substitute positions for the 2026‑2027 school year. The role focuses on delivering foundational literacy, numeracy, social, and behavioral instruction to support student growth and independence.

Responsibilities include:

• Create a structured and engaging classroom environment.
• Deliver developmentally appropriate instruction in literacy and mathematics.
• Differentiated instruction to meet diverse learners’ needs.
• Manage classroom to support a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Build relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
• Implement evidence‑based instructional and behavioral strategies.
• Integrate technology and digital tools to support instruction and engagement.

• Long‑term positions: $68,300 (Bachelor’s – Step
  1) to $84,300 (Master’s – Step
  6) per contract.
• Extended substitute positions – Kelly
  
  Education:
  
  $180/day.

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (PreK–4 or PreK–6) required.
• Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Elementary Education.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver standards‑aligned instruction in literacy and mathematics.
• Knowledge of child development and ability to provide developmentally appropriate instruction for early elementary students.
• Strong classroom management skills supporting a structured, positive, inclusive environment.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with evidence‑based instruction and behavior strategies.
• Experience integrating technology and digital tools in instruction.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Current required background clearances: PA Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), FBI Clearance (Act 114), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151).
