Adelphi is seeking Special Education Substitutes to provide instructional and classroom support for students receiving special education services in a school-based setting located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The ideal candidate will help maintain continuity of services by supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and developmental needs in accordance with established school procedures and assigned instructional plans.

  College Preparatory Boarding School
• Job Type: As needed; short-term and long-term assignments

• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate, substitute permit, or special education credential as applicable to the assignment
• Compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Education credentialing requirements
• Experience working with students with disabilities preferred

• Provide substitute instructional coverage in special education classrooms or inclusive classroom settings.
• Support implementation of assigned lesson plans, accommodations, and student support strategies.
• Assist students with academic tasks, classroom participation, and daily routines.
• Maintain a structured, supportive, and safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, paraprofessionals, and school staff as needed.
• Monitor student engagement and report concerns, progress, or incidents to designated staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and comply with school policies.
• Follow school procedures and code of conduct.
