Mechanical Engineering

Payrate: 40.00 - $50.00/hr responsibilities:
Define locomotive truck subsystem architectures, components, and specifications in accordance with established engineering processes. Capture, manage, and maintain subsystem requirements while ensuring traceability throughout the product lifecycle. Coordinate interfaces between mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, sourcing, service, and systems engineering teams. Ensure truck subsystem designs meet customer, safety, regulatory, and performance requirements. Lead technical documentation efforts, including specifications, design records, test plans, validation reports, and engineering change documentation.

Support New Product Introduction (NPI), product enhancement, requisition, productivity, service, and reliability projects. Develop and maintain component and subsystem design standards. Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, root cause investigations, and corrective action activities. Collaborate with manufacturing and service teams to resolve production and field issues. Analyze system performance data and recommend design improvements to increase reliability and reduce lifecycle costs.

Support validation and verification activities, including testing and qualification of truck components and assemblies. Maintain accurate engineering records and leverage technical documentation for training, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and internal engineering requirements. Support project execution and schedule commitments while helping achieve business and program objectives. Pay Transparency:
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $40.00 - $50.00 /hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
