Senior Business Development Officer - Equipment Finance

Full‑time hybrid or remote position located in Virginia.

• Make cold calls and follow up with referrals from Relationship Managers (RMs) to secure equipment finance opportunities in identified geographic markets.
• Evaluate prospective equipment finance opportunities through preliminary screening, including credit, pricing, tenure, and equipment assessment for internal discussion.
• Prepare and present formal proposals to clients, negotiating terms and conditions.
• Coordinate with internal and external counsel, documentation, and operations teams regarding transaction-specific documentation, funding, and booking requirements.
• Introduce Fulton Relationship team members (RM, CME, Credit, Senior Management) to prospective clients to facilitate the development of full banking relationships.
• Submit accurate and complete equipment finance transactions for processing.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, specialty in business or related field. (Required)
• Experience:
  
  5+ years in equipment finance or equivalent. (Required)
• Experience:
  
  5+ years in Commercial Credit or Business/Commercial Banking relationship management. (Preferred)
• Proven ability to independently prospect, source, propose, and originate equipment finance loans and leases with prospects and bank clients. (Required)
• Independent knowledge and understanding of all equipment finance structures and pricing models. (Required)
• In‑depth knowledge of lease types (e.g., $1 Buyout, 10% Put, TRAC, Split‑TRAC, 1st Amendment, Synthetic, FMV). (Required)
• Understanding of structuring techniques including EBOs, ETOs, Renewals, and maintenance and return provisions for each asset class. (Required)
• Ability to engage independently with Centers of Influence (Accountants, Attorneys, Manufacturers, Equipment Dealers) for referrals and introductions. (Required)
• Ability to earn the confidence of internal Bank Relationship Managers as a trusted advisor for equipment finance opportunities. (Required)
• General understanding of financial statements. (Preferred)
• Knowledge of tax lease pricing models and tax benefits (MACRS, Bonus Depreciation). (Preferred)

The salary range for this position is $ – $ annually. Specific compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s knowledge, skills, depth of experience, and relevant licenses or credentials. The salary range may vary by geographic location.

Additional Compensation Components

• Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units.

• Eligible to participate in a short‑term incentive compensation plan subject to individual and company performance.
