Regulatory Enforcement Inspector

As a Regulatory Enforcement Inspector, you will be responsible for determining whether businesses are in compliance with laws, rules, and regulations regarding professional and occupational licensing and other areas under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Commonwealth. You will be physically inspecting locations of licensees for the possession and proper display of current licensure documents as well as possession of required equipment, materials, devices, and reference books.

You will be expected to travel to various sites in a geographic area of the state to perform periodic inspections of all affected professions and occupations, conduct interviews, note deviations from established standards, and prepare reports to communicate findings. As an Inspector, you will also have the opportunity to testify at formal and informal hearings and appear as a witness for the State in formal judicial proceedings.

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts;
  or
• An Associate's Degree and one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts;
  or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which included one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts.

Other Requirements:

• This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.
