THE POSITION:
Do you like working in a fast-paced environment with a large variety of work, complex problem solving, and high-quality customer service? The Infrastructure and Economic Development Delivery Center, Technology Services Office is seeking a highly motivated Information Technology (IT) professional to join the Infrastructure team to support technologies used to provide applications and services to employees and the citizens of Pennsylvania.
This position supports multiple facilities and users in the south-central region of Pennsylvania in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming counties.

Description of WorkThis position reports to the Office of Administration, Infrastructure and Economic Development (IED) Delivery Center, Technology Services Office (TSO), IT Coordinator Division. It provides a variety of support and systems enhancement activities for IT end users in the District and County offices as well as Construction Field offices, County Stockpiles, Welcome Centers, Driver License Centers, and other remote PennDOT, DCED, and PEMA sites as required.
An IT Generalist 1 performs troubleshooting and resolves network issues, installation and servicing of hardware and software, and assists users in applying information technology to work applications.
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
- Telework:
Part-time telework may be available (up to 3 days per week) with location and security requirements; telework options beyond that depend on operational needs. If unable to telework, you may report to the headquarters office in Dunmore. Telework availability is subject to change. Details may be provided during the interview. - Salary:
Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
- One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- PA residency requirement
- Ability to perform essential job functions
