Role Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the enterprise directory services roadmap; modernize legacy directory infrastructure; establish directory design/governance standards; lead directory consolidation and migration.
- Oversee design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of directory services; ensure scalability, resiliency, and integration with internal and third-party services.
- Collaborate with IT, security, development, and product teams to deliver directory capabilities to new/existing platforms; provide guidance on best practices for secure access management.
- Ensure compliance alignment with security protocols and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST); lead development/implementation of authentication and authorization security controls.
- Manage vendor and third-party provider relationships for implementation and ongoing support.
- Lead incident management and troubleshooting for directory functionality; implement improvements to reduce disruption.
- Improve end-user experience by simplifying login processes while maintaining high-security standards; reduce friction and increase adoption.
- Develop KPIs for directory performance and security metrics; report on effectiveness, engagement, breaches, and other metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline.
- 6+ years in identity and access management, including 4+ years focused on directory solutions; IAM frameworks supporting directories with 50,000+ users.
- Deep understanding of directory technologies (LDAP/LDAPS, schema, replication, GPOs) and PKI; knowledge of Microsoft AD/AD LDS/Azure AD.
- Ability to solve complex authentication/authorization problems in a global environment.
- Strong knowledge of identity management security best practices (encryption, tokenization, secure protocols).
- Experience leading IAM system support, engineering, and operations teams in a global business unit.
- Understanding of laws/regulations including SOX and GXP.
- Proven ability to manage long-term complex projects with stakeholders and teams; strong agile collaboration, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving.
- Master’s degree in relevant discipline.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft solutions highly desirable.
