THE OPPORTUNITY

People Find Inc. is recruiting a highly skilled and strategic Purchasing Manager – Raw Materials to manage the procurement of raw materials and indirect/non-production materials for an established manufacturer.

This opportunity may also appeal to accomplished buyers and supply-chain managers with the required plastics, resin or closely related chemical-procurement background.

This position is critical to ensuring cost-effective sourcing, continuity of supply and alignment with the company’s operational and business objectives.

The successful candidate will bring strong plastics-industry experience, including knowledge of resins, TiO₂, carbon black and chemical additives.

You will work in a collaborative environment, engaging cross-functionally with Procurement, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Quality, Sales, Technical Services and Operations to improve supplier performance, reduce costs, mitigate supply risk and strengthen supply-chain efficiency.

This position is both transactional and strategic, and, therefore, is a key role in the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage purchasing requirements for manufacturing facilities throughout the United States.
• Maintain detailed purchasing records and vendor data, including specifications, pricing histories, performance results and contracts.
• Conduct market analysis to identify supply trends, cost drivers and technology shifts within the supply base.
• Lead supplier-selection and quotation processes, total-cost-of-ownership analyses and contract negotiations.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through visits, audits and performance evaluations.
• Develop commodity strategies that maximize purchasing leverage, strengthen continuity of supply and improve cost efficiency.
• Support material-budget planning, cost forecasting and key performance initiatives.
• Lead supplier negotiations, cost-reduction workshops and corrective-action processes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to mitigate supply risk and improve supplier performance.

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered, you must have:

• At least five years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, commodity management or supply-chain management.
• A plastics, resin or closely related chemical-procurement background.
• Strong industry knowledge of plastics and chemicals procurement.
• Expertise in supplier-relationship management and strategic sourcing.
• A thorough understanding of the factors that contribute to global supply-chain success.
• Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.
• The ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• The ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Knowledge of supply-market trends, relevant industry associations and contract law as it relates to purchasing.
• The willingness and ability to travel as required.

A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Chemistry or a related field is preferred.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI is strongly preferred.
