  • Use precision mechanical measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height stands, surface plates) to verify dimensional conformance.
  • Interpret ASME and ISO-compliant engineering drawings; apply fundamental GD&T concepts in routine inspections.
  • Operate 2D and 3D vision systems to collect and evaluate measurement data.
  • Use dimensional analysis software such as Poly Works (or equivalent) for point‑cloud evaluation.
  • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using PC‑DMIS software; follow established programs and setups based on part numbers.
  • Assist with basic CMM program edits and adjustments as needed.
  • Compile inspection results in Excel and other digital formats; ensure accuracy and clarity in reports.

  • Utilize 2D CAD (.dxf) files and solid models in inspection systems where applicable.
  • Prioritize work using job tracking tools and communicate inspection status with internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to share inspection findings and support continuous improvement.
  • Safely disassemble/reassemble parts for inspection purposes and handle materials using overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and lifting devices.
  • Maintain organization of inspection work‑in‑process and clearly segregate scrap material; keep work‑in‑process (WIP) and scrap materials in designated storage areas.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to complete shared inspection projects and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training in metrology, mechanical inspection, or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing‑based mechanical inspection or metrology role.
  • Proficient with standard inspection tools and vision systems.
  • Familiarity with PC‑DMIS, Poly Works, or equivalent dimensional analysis software.
  • Strong working knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T fundamentals.
  • Competency with Microsoft Excel and digital inspection reporting tools.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic production environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and operate manual and automated inspection tools.
