Position Summary

The Griff Network is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused Material Handler and Shipping Clerk to support material flow, inventory control, and shipping activities within its new release liner coating division.

This position combines hands-on material-handling responsibilities with shipping coordination and documentation. The Material Handler and Shipping Clerk is responsible for supplying raw material rolls, cores, packaging, labels, and other production supplies to the silicone coating line while also preparing packing slips, shipping labels, and other required shipment documentation.

The position works closely with Production, Scheduling, Warehouse, and other internal departments to collect shipment information, maintain the daily shipping schedule, prepare accurate paperwork, stage completed orders, and communicate any delays, shortages, discrepancies, or documentation concerns that may affect production or customer shipments.

The ideal candidate has previous shipping clerk experience within a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment, along with experience operating material-handling equipment and completing transactions within an ERP or inventory management system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately reads and interprets production orders, run sheets, packing slips, bills of lading, roll
    labels, item numbers, lot numbers, packaging instructions, work instructions, and customer
    requirements.
  • Prepares and reviews shipping documents while verifying customer information, product
    identification, quantities, weights, carrier details, and special shipping instructions.
  • Uses ERP, inventory, warehouse management, and computer-based systems to enter,
    retrieve, review, and update shipping, production, and inventory information.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail when reviewing inventory records, lot numbers, roll dimensions, product labels, shipping paperwork, and storage locations.
  • Maintains strong organizational and time-management skills while balancing shipping
    deadlines, production requests, and competing daily priorities.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves inventory, shipping, labeling, documentation, and material discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with Production, Scheduling, Warehouse,
    management, carriers, drivers, and other internal or external partners.
  • Responds effectively to changing production schedules, shipment delays, priority adjustments,
    unexpected events, and daily operational demands.
  • Works dependably and safely, follows instructions, maintains accurate records, accepts feedback, and contributes positively within a team environment.
  • Supports overtime, schedule changes, cross-training, and additional production, warehouse, or
    shipping responsibilities when required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 to 3 years of shipping clerk, shipping and receiving, warehouse, inventory, material-handling, or related manufacturing experience required.
  • Previous experience preparing packing slips, shipping labels, bills of lading, pallet labels, and other shipping documentation required.
  • Experience maintaining daily shipping schedules and coordinating shipment information with Production, Scheduling, Warehouse, carriers, or customer service teams strongly preferred.
  • Experience using an ERP system, warehouse management system, inventory management system, barcode scanner, or other computer-based shipping and inventory system is strongly preferred.
