This position is responsible for documenting, standardizing, and improving manufacturing and production processes. The role ensures processes are clearly defined, accurately represented in the ERP system, consistently followed, and continuously improved. The Process Engineer works closely with production employees and supervisors to lead training, quality, and efficiency initiatives using Lean manufacturing and DMAIC principles. This is an hourly position.

• Observe, capture, and document existing manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and material‑handling processes through direct work with production employees and supervisors.
• Create and maintain accurate ERP manufacturing data, including items, bills of material (BOMs), routings, work centers, production instructions, and related master data.
• Develop and maintain standard work, process flow diagrams, visual work instructions, setup and inspection requirements, tooling/fixture requirements, and training materials.
• Work hands‑on with production employees and supervisors to implement processes, provide training, verify understanding, and sustain documented standards.
• Lead continuous‑improvement activities using Lean methods including 5S, Kaizen, value‑stream mapping, standard work, visual management, time studies, and waste reduction.
• Lead DMAIC‑based improvement projects that deliver measurable improvements in safety, quality, labor efficiency, throughput, lead time, scrap/rework, or cost, and train others in structured problem‑solving methods.
• Support the company’s quality function by monitoring process compliance, investigating nonconformances, performing root‑cause analysis, developing corrective actions, and verifying effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and assembly problems and update documentation and ERP data when process changes are required.
• Support broader manufacturing‑engineering activities including design‑for‑manufacturability/assembly, plant or workstation layout, tooling and fixtures, equipment selection, and new‑product introduction.
• Maintain a strong production‑floor presence, with approximately 50% or more of working time spent observing, supporting, training, and improving shop‑floor operations.
