Full-Time Clinician – General Surgery | UPMC Hamot
Join a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environment supporting General Surgery, Robotics, Colorectal, and Bariatric services. This full-time role works four 10-hour shifts (typically Monday–Friday) with on-call responsibilities.
Prior OR nursing experience of at least one year is highly preferred for this role.
About the Unit Our state-of-the-art Operating Room features 17 surgical suites and supports a wide range of specialties, including Robotics, Kidney Transplants, Trauma, and other complex surgical services. We deliver high-quality care for both elective and urgent cases, serving patients across the lifespan.
You'll be part of a collaborative team working alongside highly skilled surgeons and anesthesiologists, playing a key role in delivering exceptional patient care.

The Clinician serves as a nurse leader with direct responsibility for fostering a culture of excellence and high-quality patient care. This role models professional nursing practice and supports team development and performance.
Under the direction of the Unit Director or department manager, the Clinician oversees staff performance, including conducting evaluations, supporting hiring and selection processes, and managing the day-to-day activities of direct reports. The role also provides clinical expertise and service-based education, including staff orientation, training, consultation on practice issues, and coordination of clinical activities.
The Clinician may also assume shift accountability for patient care delivery as needed.
