Full-Time Professional Staff Nurse – Vascular Access | UPMC Hamot

Schedule: Rotating day/evening shifts, including weekends and off-shifts as needed. Flexible 8- or 12-hour shifts available.

The Senior Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and key member of the care delivery team who sets standards for the level and quality of patient care. This role is responsible and accountable for the provision of nursing care through clinical expertise, leadership, collaboration, and professional judgment. The Senior Professional Staff Nurse partners with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care while serving as a clinical resource and mentor to colleagues.

Title and salary will be determined based upon education and nursing experience.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process within the framework of Relationship-Based Care to deliver patient-centered, compassionate care.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans that address the holistic needs of patients and their families.
  • Provide specialized vascular access services while promoting patient safety, quality outcomes, and an exceptional patient experience.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and advocate for patient needs.
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical judgment and critical thinking when addressing complex clinical, social, safety, spiritual, and psychosocial concerns.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive documentation to support continuity of care.
