• Full Time, Evenings/Nights (40 Hours/weekly)
• Shift: 7:00pm – 7:30am and 11:00pm – 7:30am
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required

Geisinger is offering a full‑time Unit Desk Clerk position with a starting hourly rate of $16.24 and additional shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekend shifts.

• Perform a wide range of clerical duties in a patient care environment.
• Participate in required patient safety education programs and activities designed to improve departmental safety.
• Ensure appropriate bed assignment and timely notification of teletracking upon discharge.
• Complete admissions, transfers, discharges, and deaths according to standards.
• Transcribe and process orders according to unit standards.
• Release and confirm ordered tests to appropriate departments.
• Coordinate transportation of patients to multiple tests.
• Communicate patient‑related information promptly to the appropriate care team member.
• Obtain and communicate electronic information pertinent to the nursing unit.
• Communicate with food services to ensure appropriate patient diets.
• Collaborate with other health‑care teams to facilitate multidisciplinary patient care.
• Order supplies, file forms and reports, and maintain an organized patient‑care environment.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures for clerical equipment.
• Assist with transporting non‑controlled medications and blood products as needed.
• Assist the care team in collecting necessary data or reports.
• Precept and mentor new staff in a professional, positive manner.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) – required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (American Heart Association) – required.
