Job Summary

Geisinger is proud to offer an Inpatient RN a hiring incentive up to $26,000 for eligible candidates! Minimum hiring rate of $41.41 with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Location:

Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV).

Shift: Days (United States of America). Scheduled weekly hours: 36.

Hours:

7:00a.m.–7:30p.m.; every other weekend and holiday required.

• Complete assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
• Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
• Formulate, coordinate, and provide a plan of care as established in unit standards, including patient and family education and discharge planning with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
• Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise plan of care based on patient response.
• Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to proactively resolve patient needs.
• Problem‑solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment.
• Participate in unit‑based decision‑making regarding utilization of evidence‑based practice.
• Act as a team member working toward unit and organization goals; account for unit and system‑specific metrics.
• Participate in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety.

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing (Required);
  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• Basic Life Support Certification.
• Able to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
