Job Summary:

Geisinger offers a Graduate Inpatient RN with up to $21,000 hiring incentive and an Experienced Inpatient RN with up to $26,000 hiring incentive for eligible candidates. The base hiring rate is $41.41, with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

• Assess plans, organize, perform and evaluate nursing activities to meet patient needs
• Promote adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve the highest level of patient care, promote safety and maximize patient satisfaction

• Coordinate patient care and interaction of staff
• Meet qualifications to provide care for patients in assigned nursing unit

• Complete assessments as per scope of practice and unit standards
• Address physical, psychological, social, cultural and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout continuum of care
• Formulate, coordinate and provide plan of care including patient and family education, needs and discharge planning with interdisciplinary team members
• Provide direct patient care (treatments, medications, diagnostic studies) according to policy and procedure
• Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise plan of care based on patient response
• Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel and other interdisciplinary team members to resolve patient needs
• Problem‑solve, troubleshoot and take corrective measures in care and handling of equipment
• Participate in unit‑based decision‑making regarding utilization of evidence‑based practice
• Actively participate as a team member working toward unit and organization goals and meet unit and system specific metrics
• Participate in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety
• Work is typically performed in a clinical environment
