Central York School District (CYSD) is looking for a part-time Cook/Cashier to join the Central York High School food service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and customer service, a passion for ensuring students have access to nutritious meals, and the ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. The Cook/Cashier will play a key role in meal preparation, cashiering, and fostering positive interactions with students and staff.

Assist with the preparation, serving and cleanup of the school breakfast and/or lunch program. Create an environment that produces a satisfying school experience as well as a professional image of the school while providing a well‑balanced student breakfast and lunch program.

• Prepare food in accordance with established procedures and direction of the Head Cook.
• Assist the Head Cook in estimating the quantities of food to students and staff.
• Actively participate in the serving of food to students and staff.
• Assist and participate in the necessary cleanup of all cafeteria‑related areas.
• Maintain and practice required standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Become knowledgeable about the overall operation to insure continuity and consistency of service in the event of personnel absence.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of safe operation of all kitchen equipment.
• Interact with students and staff in a courteous and positive manner.
• Actively participate in activities designed to improve the school lunch program.
• Perform other duties reasonably related to the Food Services function as assigned by the Head Cook, Principal and/or Food Service Director.

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Knowledge in the food service industry with an understanding of nutrition, sanitation and food safety is preferred
• Serv Safe preferred
• Cooking experience preferred
• General working knowledge of computers preferred
• Must demonstrate the ability to be highly structured and organized & have good communication skills
• Must have obtained (or will obtain) valid PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Criminal History Background clearances within the past twelve (12) months.

$14.00-$18.75
