Liquor Store Assistant Manager - Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh

THE POSITION

We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Liquor Store Assistant Manager 1 to join our Fine Wine & Good Spirits store at Fifth Avenue in Pittsburgh. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth operation of the store while delivering exceptional customer service. You will work closely with the General Manager to lead, motivate, and develop a team, drive sales, and maintain high standards of store presentation.

This position supports the daily operation of a retail liquor store by supervising clerks and ensuring steady store activity. The role focuses on customer service, staff coordination, inventory practices, and smooth shift transitions. As a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Shift Leadership:
  Guide staff during assigned shifts and ensure coverage across all service areas
• Customer Support:
  Assist shoppers, resolve concerns, and help maintain a positive store environment
• Inventory Oversight:
  Monitor product counts, address discrepancies, and keep systems updated
• Cash Procedures:
  Handle cash accurately, prepare deposits, and manage register operations
• Store Readiness:
  Maintain a clean, organized store and prepare the location for opening or closing

• One year as a Liquor Store Clerk 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years as a Liquor Store Clerk 1 or an Intermittent Liquor Store Clerk (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• One year of lead retail sales work.
