Responsibilities- Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
- Respond to basic warranty calls.
- Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing solutions and outcomes during service.
- Load system‑level controller software and perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators), completing all required commissioning documentation.
- Keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
- Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
- Complete administrative tasks including timesheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
- Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation.
- Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
- Demonstrate a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility runs efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
- HVAC license or a 2‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field.
- Minimum of two years related working experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and other contacts ethically and professionally.
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non‑technical people.
- Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical building automation equipment on a job site.
- PC experience and ability to program HVAC‑related software.
Hourly rate: $23.00–$31.00 (determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities). Competitive benefits package. Salary range reflects the target compensation for this role; exceptional candidates may bring unique skills that exceed the typical profile.
