Service Technician

Onex Inc is seeking a Service Technician to support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of custom combustion and heat transfer systems for industrial clients around Houston, TX. In this hands-on, field-based role, you will troubleshoot burners, fuel trains, and controls; perform inspections and preventive maintenance; and interpret engineering drawings to execute safe, reliable work. You'll collaborate with engineers and fabricators, help optimize system performance, and document service activities, all while upholding strict safety standards in demanding industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and service combustion and heat transfer systems at industrial client sites
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on burners, controls, and mechanical components
• Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operation
• Interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation to support field work
• Calibrate instruments, sensors, and control devices to meet performance and safety standards
• Document service activities, findings, and recommendations in clear, timely service reports
• Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to resolve complex field issues
• Support startup, shutdown, and optimization of thermal and combustion systems
• Follow all safety procedures, permits, and regulatory requirements in industrial environments
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing onsite training and support as needed
