THE POSITION
As a Part-Time Senior Center Operator 1 with the Monroe County Area Agency on Aging (AAA), you will shape activities that support health, learning, and social interaction. This position offers an opportunity to plan programs that match the interests of local seniors. You will help guide volunteers, support center operations, and keep services running smoothly. DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This role focuses on planning activities, coordinating center operations, and supporting programs that meet the needs of older adults. You will help ensure services run smoothly and support both participants and volunteers. As a Part-Time Senior Center Operator 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Activity Planning:
Organize and schedule recreational, educational, and nutritional programs for center participants - Needs Assessment:
Identify consumer interests and plan programs that meet those needs - Food Oversight:
Check food deliveries, train volunteers in food handling, and collect donations - Program Evaluation:
Evaluate center services to determine success in reaching program goals - Volunteer Coordination:
Support volunteers and ensure they follow proper procedures during activities
- Part-time employment
- Work hours are 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Mon.
- Wed.
- Fri., with 30-minute lunch. - Telework:

- Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Monroe County. If no eligible candidates who live within Monroe County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
