Senior Accountant

Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a contract opportunity with one of our clients. This role will support core accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and month-end close. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and review journal entries

+ Reconcile complex general ledger accounts and bank accounts

+ Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

+ Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules

+ Analyze financial data, research variances, and resolve discrepancies

+ Support audit requests and maintain accurate documentation

+ Assist with process improvements and strengthening internal controls

+ Partner with cross-functional teams on accounting and reporting needs

+ Support other general accounting functions as needed

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior-level or progressive accounting role

+ Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting

+

Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as Microsoft D365, Oracle Net Suite, Quick Books, SAP, or Workday (Source: Q1  Demand for Skilled )

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

+ Ability to manage deadlines and work independently

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

+ CPA or CPA-track preferred

+ Experience supporting month-end close, audit, and financial statement preparation
