Manufacturing Engineer
Provide a range of expertise in supporting and improving the manufacturing capabilities to produce products. Contribute to improving a range of fabrication processes that can directly impact the sustaining and growth efforts of operations. Focus on design and deployment of digital motion systems, including robot programming, working with outside vendors for turnkey systems, and deployment/maintenance of data collection and monitoring equipment.
Participate in both the introduction of new products and technology as well as improvement of existing processes.
- BS in Engineering
- 3+ years working in a manufacturing environment
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement principles
- Proficient with CAD (ideally NX) for design/3D modeling. Fiber Sim is a plus
- Experience with NPI (New Product Introduction)
- Knowledge of composites manufacturing processes
- NC/Robot Programming preferred
- Evaluate and develop manufacturing processes/designs by studying product requirements
- Research, design, modify, and implement manufacturing methods and equipment.
- Participate in NC Programming and maintain revision control for processes and designs
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors on design and development of turnkey automated systems.
