Primary Purpose of Position:

Under the guidance of the Director, Operations, Planning and Supply Chain, the Operations Manager oversees all activities of the Finishing department. The duties could take place on any shift, depending on changing needs/risks at the time. He/she will have direct supervisory responsibility of the Finishing Supervisors. He/she ensures timely delivery of the highest quality products at the lowest reasonable cost by performing the following duties personally, or through delegation to subordinates.

He/she will have project related responsibilities, as well as responsibility for the development of people and processes.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assists in the execution of Production schedules and provides timely responses to production and personnel issues. Ensures subordinates do the same through continuous training.
• Fosters a healthy team environment, ensuring employee accountability and outstanding team performance. Works across the different finishing areas to identify opportunities of cross training and development of individuals and teams to improve overall performance. Develops team leaders in each area.
• Works closely with the Director of Operations, other Operations Managers, HR and Planning to coordinate on-time delivery of 1 st quality product the 1 st time. Puts team goals first and works to tear down boundaries between functional areas.
