Position Summary
The Planner II – Production Planning is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed production schedules that align with demand forecasts, material availability, and capacity constraints. This role ensures efficient use of manufacturing resources, on‑time delivery of products, and optimal inventory levels. The Planner II serves as a key liaison between production, purchasing, engineering, and logistics teams to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage short‑ and mid‑range production schedules to meet customer demand and inventory targets.
  • Translate demand forecasts and sales orders into executable production plans, considering capacity, labor, and material constraints.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules based on changes in demand, material availability, equipment downtime, or other production factors.
  • Collaborate with procurement and materials management to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Review work orders and ensure accurate data entry in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Analyze production performance metrics (schedule adherence, lead time, capacity utilization) and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to support product launches, engineering changes, and process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate planning parameters (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock levels) in planning systems.
  • Identify and communicate potential production bottlenecks or risks and propose mitigation plans.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving throughput, and enhancing planning accuracy.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field OR 2–4 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or materials management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar) required.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of production planning principles, capacity management, and material flow.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily office‑based with regular interaction with the production floor.
  • May require occasional extended hours during peak production or product launch periods.

Compensation

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non‑exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $76,000.00 and $.
