Senior Regulatory Specialist - Erlanger, KY
This is a permanent, full-time, exempt-level position. Ideal work location for this position is ADM’s operation in Erlanger, KY. However, this individual may report into other ADM sites such as Cranbury, NJ;
Chicago, IL; and New Berlin, WI.
This position provides regulatory support and expertise to ensure customer satisfaction and success of the overall business strategy of the organization. The role requires overseeing compliance with government regulations on food labeling, including food color labeling, flavor labeling, and nutritional panels, as well as international country review and compliance.
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES- Technical understanding of regulatory documentation and ability to conduct detailed research & interpretation of rules and guidance applicable to the company’s product portfolio and ingredients used therein
- Proficiency in FDA, USDA, CAN Food and Flavor regulations required, and experience with international food regulations desirable
- Finished CPG labeling experience in support of the flavors turn‑key business
- Communication skills that help to relate regulatory topics to non‑regulatory audiences (Sales, R&D) related to ADM Wild Flavors portfolio, including flavors, colors derived from nature, and nutra blends
- Ability to set priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail to minimize internal and external complaints
- Possess knowledge of how to research and interpret food regulations, with high preference to flavors and colors expertise

- Actively participate and contribute to team building efforts in the department
- Understand the importance of meeting department performance targets
- Data maintenance: vendor communication, interpretation of vendor documents, and creation and maintenance of technical data in the company database for purchased ingredients and finished Wild products
- Documentation: coordinates across functions and is responsible for the creation, issuance and updating of product documentation, which includes specifications, ingredient and allergen statements, nutritional information, GMO‑status reviews, organic compliance, Kosher, Halal, country compliance, country of origin, SDS and other Regulatory documentation provided to customers and technical personnel as needed
- Assesses pending formula revisions / communicates any change notices required
- Assists in managing, reviewing, and revising Regulatory ISO work instructions; reviewing and applying Regulatory or client policies & practices
- Acts as an information resource and represents the regulatory viewpoint for both internal and external customers; this includes the provision of education and guidance to R&D and commercial teams on various regulatory topics
- Communicates with external governing agencies, third‑party certifiers and trade associations; participates in internal or external audits as required
- Performs other duties and special assignments as required
- Willing to travel to corporate offices and industry functions when applicable
- Legal evaluation of the company products for the intended industry (i.e., food, beverage)
- Responsible for the creation, issuance and updating of product documentation; this could include documents such as specifications, allergens, GMO, labeling, country compliance, kosher, halal, SDS, nutritional information, country of origin and other Regulatory documentation to Eatem Foods customers and technical personnel as needed
- Communicate with external governing agencies and trade associations as required
- Perform root cause analysis for customer complaints related to Regulatory
- Perform other duties and special assignments as required
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or other related science field
