Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Label Printer is a technical position within the Quality organization reporting to the QA & FS Specialist. The role supports implementation and enforcement of label compliance within the Quality and Food Safety Management System throughout all manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to company policies, FDA cGMP, and industry standards. It requires strong communication skills, prioritization, adaptability to fast‑paced environments, and the ability to work independently to drive production success.

Primary

Job Functions
  • Print labels within a 24‑hour period for operations.
  • Print real‑time labels for 24/7 departments.
  • Initiate label cover sheets and disperse labels to operations as MOs are initiated.
  • Disposal of unused labels properly.
  • Coordinate with other shifts.
  • Understand SDS sheets for hazards on labels.
  • Basic understanding of MES system AS400/SAP.
  • Reprint labels for MO changes or damaged ones.
  • Communicate with Planning, Inventory, and Weigh‑Up departments for schedule changes.
  • QA reviews label sheets, matches labels to back, verifies HACCP, and recycles returned labels.
  • Confirm label accuracy after printing, ensuring a secondary review by a Lead, Supervisor, or QA personnel.
Support Technical QA in Cross‑Functional Initiatives
  • Weigh compliance.
  • Weight verification label compliance.
  • Label change compliance.
  • Label change verification and form completion.
  • Escalate issues to Technical QA.
Coordinate Activities of Contracted Quality Inspectors
  • Labeling compliance.
Requirements
  • Preferred associate’s degree (2 years) in a science‑related field or 3‑5 years of food or beverage manufacturing QA experience in a production environment.
  • Follow all company policies, cGMP, Food Safety, FDA, USDA, GFSI, FSMA, OSHA safety regulations, QMS, and SOP/SSOPs.
  • Read written instructions, SOPs, and SSOPs.
  • Work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to excel in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs and walk/stand throughout the shift.

Pay and Benefits

Base pay may vary based on market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non‑exempt employees receive overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. The pay range for this position is expected to be between $41,600.00 and $71,000.00.
