Lab Technician
Location:
Erlanger, KY 41018 Pay Rate: $25–$28.50/hr, paid weekly
Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 10:00 PM–6:00 AM | Weekends as required Duration: 6 month contract, plus
The Lab Technician supports plant quality and production operations by preparing samples, performing analytical testing, monitoring manufacturing processes, and accurately documenting results. This position uses instrumental and wet chemistry testing methods and works closely with operations to ensure products meet established quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Prepare process and finished product samples for laboratory analysis.
- Perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures.
- Document and enter testing results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Perform assigned process-monitoring tests throughout the plant.
- Retain tested product samples for result verification and additional testing when required.
- Communicate test results and required process adjustments to operations personnel.
- Provide recommendations to production operators based on test findings and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Perform routine calibration and light maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Monitor laboratory testing supplies and notify supervision when inventory needs to be replenished.
- Compare equipment readings against standard samples to verify testing accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory, including washing equipment and properly storing materials.
- Follow all FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, company safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Previous laboratory, quality testing, or manufacturing/plant experience preferred.
- Experience using standard laboratory equipment such as pH meters, balances, and spectrophotometers preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to operate computerized laboratory instruments and data systems.
- Strong math skills with the ability to perform calculations related to laboratory testing.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality with a strong safety record.
