Construction Plumber – Field Technician – Direct Hire opportunity!
1st shift hours – 7am-3:30pm
Pay based on experience - $20-35/hour to start (license not required)

This is a Direct Hire opportunity with our client! This individual is responsible for the assembly, installation, retrofit and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, cooling, water, and drainage systems utilizing accepted industry practices and theory.
Job Functions and Duties- Studiesbuildingplansandworkingdrawingstodetermineworkrequiredandsequenceofinstallations.
- Inspects the structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of the structure resulting from the installation of thepipe.
- Locatesandmarksthe position of pipesandpipeconnectionsandpassageholesforpipesinwallsandfloors.
- Cutsopeningsinwallsandfloorsto accommodatepipe andpipefittings.
- Cutsandthreadspipe.
- Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brassand lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay and plastic.
- Joinspipesbyuseofscrews,bolts,fittings,solder,plastic solvent,pro-pressandcaulksjoints.
- Fillpipesystemswithwaterorairandreadspressuregaugestodeterminewhethersystemisleaking.
- Installsandrepairsplumbingfixturessuchassinks,commodes,bathtubs,waterheaters,hotwater tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners.
- Repairsandmaintainsplumbingbyreplacingwashersinleakyfaucets,mendingburstpipes,and opening clogged drains.
- Synthesizescomplexordiverseinformationandusesintuitionandexperiencetocomplementdata.
- Managesdifficultoremotionalcustomersituationsby usinggoodcommunicationsskills.
- Otherdutiesasassigned.

Education and Experience- Three yearsofexperienceworkingas aplumberdoingservicecalls,repairs,andremodels. Experience working in the commercial sector with construction plumbing is highly preferred.
- Experiencewithboilers,pumps,andfamiliaritywithbuilding mechanical systems.
- Abilitytoadd,subtract,multiply, and divideinallunitsof measure usingwholenumbers,common fractions and decimals.
- Abilitytocomputerates,ratiosandpercentages,aswell asdrawandinterpretbargraphs.
- Abilitytoapplycommonsenseunderstandingtocarryout instructionsfurnishedinwritten, schedule, oral or diagram form.
- Abilityto solvepracticalproblemsand dealwitha variety of concretevariablesinsituationswhere only limited standardization exists.
- Valid driver'slicense

This position requires working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms and in possible extreme weather conditions.
