DIESEL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (B)
Shift: 2nd Shift – Mon‑Fri, 12:00pm–8:30pm.
Vehicle Technician B will repair and maintain all types of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling, trailers, and diesel-powered equipment; perform job duties independently with limited supervision; provide mentoring and assistance to Vehicle Technician C's as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities- Perform some electrical, mechanical diagnostic, and repair of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling, trailers, and diesel-powered equipment
- Perform various forms of equipment repair including drive chain components, automatic brake systems, etc. through an intermediate level of experience and system knowledge
- Maintainaccurateparts inventory, research, resolve all discovered inventory discrepancies and notify maintenance management when a resolution is not available
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and warehouse
- Performothertasksasdeterminedandrequestedbymanagement
- Work in the Maintenance software system to record data, ensure DOT compliance, and ensurefollow-upof return orders
- Serve as a mentor for Vehicle Technicians C, as needed; may perform other duties as assigned
- Basic welding and cutting torch operation skills
- Basic electrical, mechanical diagnostics, and repair skills
- Understanding of tire ination systems
- Knowledge and ability to mount and dismount tires
- Basic diagnostic tool skills
- Ability to schedule and prioritize daily tasks
- Must adhere to company uniform and appearance standards
- Professional and appropriate interaction with internal and external customers
- Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions tools, equipment, machinery and, or materials used to power, hand, diagnostic tools operate material handling equipment
- Must be capable of driving company equipment including class 8 tractors working conditions
- Must be able to work a exible schedule and be able to vary the start and nish times, possibly including weekends and holidays
- Basic computer skills
- Each technician needs to provide their own tools
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge acquired through 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- D.O.T. Brake Inspection certification
- Ability to obtain a DOT medical certificate
