Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician inspects, troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, and installs production machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on diagnosing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues, performing both preventive and corrective maintenance, and supporting production by minimizing equipment downtime and improving overall operational performance.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install production machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues and perform timely repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Observe equipment operation and identify root causes of mechanical or operational issues through inspection, testing, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Disassemble, repair, replace, and reassemble machine components and equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
  • Inspect equipment components for wear, damage, and dimensional accuracy to determine appropriate repair or replacement needs.
  • Adjust, align, calibrate, and test machinery and control systems to verify proper operation following maintenance or repairs.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities according to established schedules and priorities.
  • Lubricate, clean, and maintain machinery and equipment to maximize reliability, performance, and equipment life.
  • Set up and operate machine shop equipment, including lathes, drill presses, grinders, welders, plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools, as needed to repair or fabricate components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, technical drawings, work orders, and specifications to perform maintenance and repairs accurately.
  • Complete and maintain maintenance work orders, repair records, and other required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies, and initiate purchase requisitions as needed to support ongoing maintenance activities.
  • Assist with the installation, relocation, modification, and commissioning of machinery and production equipment.
  • Understand the basic operating functions of production equipment to effectively diagnose equipment issues and support production needs.
  • Inspect tools, equipment, and work areas to identify unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with safety policies and applicable regulations.
  • Transport tools, equipment, materials, and replacement parts between work areas and storage locations as needed to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with production personnel, vendors, and cross-functional teams to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production support needs to minimize operational disruptions.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting experience with production machinery and equipment.
  • Experience working with pneumatic systems in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, technical drawings, work orders, and specifications.
  • Capability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Solid understanding of preventive maintenance practices in an industrial environment.
  • Commitment to following safety policies and procedures while working with machinery and tools.
