Federal Work Study - Student AV Technical Assistant (2026‑2027)
Job SummaryThe purpose of the Federal Work‑Study Program is to give a student an opportunity to develop skills, gain on‑the‑job experience for future employment, and give the student flexibility to work around class schedules. This role provides technical assistance for lighting, sound, set dressing, and audiovisual equipment for Besse Center Theater events and campus events.
Minimum Qualifications- Must be a Bay College student in the work‑study program and have filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Work‑study requires enrollment for a minimum of six credits that applies to the semester of employment.
- Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- Average 10‑15 hours per week, dependent upon your work‑study award.
- Assist in the set‑up of lighting, sound, set dressing, and AV for Besse Center Theater events.
- Provide operational support for lighting, sound, set dressing, and AV during Besse Center Theater events.
- Assist in maintenance of theatrical systems.
- Assist in the set‑up of AV equipment for events throughout the campus.
- Maintain safe, orderly, and clean facilities during events.
- Act as the on‑site contact for Bay College clients before, during, and after events to ensure that the audio‑visual needs for every client’s expectations are met in a positive manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Community Events and Marketing Coordinator and the AV Technical Coordinator.
