Instructional Aides - Learning Center

Position:
Sixteen (16) Instructional Aides

Classroom: ECSE & MoCI Extended School Year & SCI Program

Summer Session: Dates and work times will vary based on assignment.

• Meet the standards for highly qualified paraprofessionals as defined by MDE: high school graduate with at least two years of study at a higher education institution (equal to 60 semester hours), an associate’s degree (or higher), or meet a rigorous standard with a passage of an approved formal state academic assessment in knowledge of instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics; or knowledge/readiness of those areas;
  
  as appropriate.
• OR:
  High school graduate or equivalent with at least two (2) years of successful experience as an aide in a daycare training program, trainable classroom, or equivalent, and recommended by an administrator who supervised the aide’s work for at least one year.
• Possess a valid Michigan driver’s license.

• Complementing instruction: assist the teacher during the lesson by helping pupils who may have difficulty understanding or keeping up with the instruction.
• Supplementing instruction: assist the teacher by working with individuals or small groups of pupils on follow-up activities specified by the teacher.
• Assist with feeding.
• Assist with toileting.
• Assisting the teacher by administering, under supervision and direction, remedial or drill activities for individuals or small groups.

Pay Scale: In accordance with the Master Agreement (hourly rates).
