Job Summary /Basic Function
- The Admissions Recruiter serves as a frontline representative of the College and is responsible for promoting enrollment through student recruitment, outreach, and relationship-building activities throughout the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and surrounding service areas. This position supports prospective students through the admissions process while communicating the value of community college education, workforce training, transfer opportunities, and student support services. The Admissions Recruiter regularly travels to high schools, college fairs, community events, and partner organizations to increase awareness and enrollment opportunities for traditional and non-traditional students.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree and two years of experience in admissions, recruitment, student services, sales, marketing, public relations, education, or customer service.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences including students, families, schools, and community organizations.
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Proficiency in technology applications (i.e. Microsoft 365) and customer relationship management (CRM) or database systems.
Ability and willingness to travel primarily throughout the Upper Peninsula and other areas as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Valid driver's license and ability to meet institutional driving requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, communications, marketing, or a related field;
Two or more years of experience working in higher education admissions or community college recruitment.
Experience with recruiting or student support in healthcare degree fields
Familiarity with rural communities and the unique challenges facing first-generation and non-traditional students.
Experience using student information systems andCRMplatforms.
Knowledge of financial aid, admissions procedures, dual enrollment, and transfer pathways.
Experience with public speaking, event coordination, or social media outreach.

Work Schedule
- Typical hours are 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch break. The position does require some evening and weekend hours.
