Full-time/Part-time Part-Time Position Type Faculty Job Summary/Basic Function

This position reports to the Dean of Occupational and Workforce Programs. The instructor will have the opportunity to teach in-person or remote to facilitate student learning in CAD software to achieve course learning outcomes. Instructor will convey the syllabus requirements to the students, do assessment on student work and report student grades to the registrar.

• Associates Degree or higher in Computer Aided Design, Applied Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or related degree with 30 credit hours in Computer Aided Design and Drafting specialty courses from an accredited institution.
• Two years’ work experience in the field of design and/or engineering, directly involved with the application of CAD tools to create products, structures, machines, or tooling.
• Ability to integrate computer applications into teaching, ability to communicate with students remotely and effectively achieve learning outcomes through remote or in-person instruction.
• Capability to present information in an instructional setting and respond to questions from groups.
• Positive teaching style and understanding the needs of students.
• Commitment to quality instruction in a learner-centered Commitment to the community college mission and philosophy.
• Ability to provide diverse learning experiences to diverse student populations.
• Demonstrated skill in effective written and oral communications.

• Bachelor’s degree in design, or a related field.
• Professional experience with software packages including Auto Cad, Inventor, Solid Works, Fusion 360 or other platforms utilized in technical design.
• Certifications in CAD software packages. Teaching experience (including on job training of co-workers). Familiarity with ISO and ANSI orthographic projections.
• Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances.
• Additive Engineering Experience.

Months Per Year 4 Hours Worked Per Week Work Schedule Dependent upon course schedule, which may include evening instruction.
