Job Summary /Basic Function
- The purpose of the Federal Work-Study Program is to give a student an opportunity to develop skills, gain on-the-job experience for future employment, and give the student flexibility to work around class schedules.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a Bay College student in the work study program to be considered for this position. Eligibility for work-study is determined after you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).Work-study requires that you are degree seeking and enrolled in a minimum of one credit that applies towards the semester you are employed.

You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous training or experience in customer service

Previous training or experience working in Microsoft Word and Excel

Work Hours
- Average 10-15 hours per week, dependent upon your work study award.

Supervision Received
- Works under the direction of the Director of Human Resources and Human Resource Specialist.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Duties

  • Assist with clerical duties for Human Resources, Academic Affairs, and President Office as assigned.
  • Operate telephone and answer and transfer calls.
  • Take messages and communicate to appropriate person.
  • Greet visitors and escort them to appropriate person.
  • Respond to visitor's questions professionally and courteously.
  • Create databases/tables/queries/reports and input data as assigned.
  • Electronic Filing / Scanning
  • Create and maintain employee personnel files ensuring compliance with records retention schedule.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all records including personnel issues, background checks, hiring information etc.
  • Assist with background checks.
  • Assist with data entry into HRIS system.
  • Assist with candidate recruitment
  • Assist with data entry, descriptions, and postings in the position management system
  • Assist with work-study and tutor hiring.
  • Assist with mass mailings.
  • Performs light cleaning and maintain office supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
