Student Job Summary/Basic Function:
The purpose of the Federal Work-Study Program is to give a student an opportunity to develop skills, gain on-the-job experience for future employment, and give the student flexibility to work around class schedules.
- Must be a Bay College student in the work study program to be considered for this position. Eligibility for work-study is determined after you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Work-study requires that you are degree seeking and enrolled in a minimum of one credit that applies towards the semester you are employed.
- You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Months Per Year Work Hours Average 10-15 hours per week, dependent upon your work study award.
SupervisionWorks under the direction of the IT Helpdesk Coordinator and Coordinator of Campus User Technology.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Answer Help Desk telephone and assist students and employees with technical issues.
- Reset passwords
- Assist users with setting up email on personal devices
- Assist users with accessing the Bay College Wi-Fi Network
- Provide support for classroom technology including video conferencing
- Work within the Request Ticket system to solve user problems
- Other duties as assigned by Helpdesk Coordinator and/or Coordinator of Campus User Technology
- Assist in installation and troubleshooting of PC software and hardware across the campus
- Assist in repair and setup of workstations
- Assist in cabling of the network and troubleshooting the network
- Assist Network admins with server maintenance tasks
