Job Summary/Basic Function
The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting Institutional Effectiveness at Bay College. This position will manage a variety of research projects, dashboards, reporting and grant initiatives, contributing to the institution’s overall mission and strategic goals. This role is pivotal in providing data-driven insights that enhance the quality of the college’s programs and operations from the course level to accreditation. This position will gather and analyze relevant data that will guide decisions at the institution.
This position will make a meaningful impact on the institution’s success and growth. This position is not remote. This position will be on our Escanaba campus.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in data analysis, computer science, statistics, information technology, business administration, information systems/management, or science with an emphasis in research and analysis or a bachelor’s degree in another area but holds relevant work experience in data analytics
- Strong analytical, data interpretation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working in an enterprise resource planning ( ERP system) or database
- 3+ years of experience in institutional research or data analysis
- Prior work experience with processing detailed information
- Understanding of accreditation processes in higher education
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SPSS , SAS , or R
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik View
- Experience with SQL , Python, or R programming languages
