Junior Accountant

Description

A growing healthcare services organization in Escondido is adding a Junior Accountant to its accounting department. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who wants hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and month-end close.

You'll work closely with experienced accounting professionals and have the opportunity to expand your responsibilities as you become more comfortable with the company's systems and processes.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare basic journal entries and accounting transactions

+ Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations

+ Maintain general ledger documentation

+ Assist with Accounts Payable invoice processing

+ Post customer payments and assist with Accounts Receivable

+ Prepare account reconciliation schedules

+ Assist with monthly close activities

+ Research discrepancies and correct accounting information

+ Maintain organized financial records

+ Assist with recurring financial reports and spreadsheets

+ Support audits and special accounting projects

Requirements

+ 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience

+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

+ Understanding of debits, credits, and basic accounting principles

+ Strong Excel skills

+

Experience with Quick Books, Net Suite, Sage, or similar software is a plus

+ Strong attention to detail

+ Excellent organizational and time-management skills

+ Ability to work independently while collaborating with a larger team
