A growing construction company in Escondido is seeking a Project Accountant to support multiple active projects and work directly with Project Managers and Operations.

This is a great role for an accountant who enjoys more than traditional general ledger work. You'll be involved with job costs, project billing, vendor activity, budget tracking, contract documentation, and month-end reporting.

What you'll own:

• Maintain accounting records for assigned construction projects
• Track project costs against approved budgets
• Review invoices for proper job and cost-code allocation
• Assist with project billing and change orders
• Monitor subcontractor and vendor activity
• Reconcile project-related accounts
• Prepare job-cost reports
• Review project financial performance
• Assist Project Managers with budget questions
• Track commitments and outstanding project costs
• Prepare monthly project reporting
• Assist with WIP schedules and revenue-related reporting
• Support month-end close
• Research cost discrepancies
• Maintain project accounting documentation
• Assist with audits and year-end reporting
