Summary
A growing mechanical contractor is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support active multifamily, commercial, hospitality, rehabilitation, and mechanical construction projects throughout Southern California. This role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture by partnering with field teams, project managers, superintendents, and operations to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, enjoys working in the field, and is passionate about creating safe, productive jobsites.
Key Responsibilities- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across active construction projects
- Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Lead new hire safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and workplace injuries while documenting findings and corrective actions
- Maintain safety reports, inspection logs, training records, and compliance documentation
- Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to proactively address safety concerns
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety requirements
- Coordinate safety walks before project startup to identify potential hazards
- Support employee onboarding and safety training initiatives
- Participate in safety meetings and recommend continuous process improvements

- Single-Family Residential
- 2–3+ years of construction safety experience required
- Experience supporting multifamily construction projects preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently while supporting multiple active jobsites
- OSHA 30 certification
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Experience operating or training on telehandlers, forklifts, scissor lifts, or aerial lifts
- Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and field training
