In a SentenceThe Kids Club Coordinator develops and leads a growing team of volunteers with relational leadership, creative vision, and spiritual development through dynamic, inviting, and formative learning experiences in Kids Ministry’s Wednesday night programs.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Programming and Events
:
Develop and implement a biblically solid, age-appropriate, and engaging elementary program.
- Plan for and develop gospel-focused Wednesday night ministry environments, including curriculum, teaching, worship, and drama in a welcoming environment that is cohesive, clear, engaging, and safe.
- Assist in the planning and execution of annual winter camps, Harvest Party, and other family events.
- Initiate new efforts that support the vision and direction of the church.
- Create weekly learning experiences in a welcoming environment that are cohesive, clear, engaging, and safe.
- Prepares weekly classroom materials and sets up individual classrooms each week.
- Maintains and organizes elementary ministry environments in partnership with the Sunday Elementary Coordinator.
Recruit, equip, and support a committed team of volunteers.
- Strive to recruit and build leadership teams with age-appropriate child/leader ratios that support building personal connections with each child.
- Manage the development and scheduling of large group teachers, worship, drama, and tech teams.
- Oversee room management and technical needs for ministry times.
- Develop partnerships across departments to pursue more effective ministry with children, both in the church and in the community.
- Volunteers are creatively equipped to engage in meaningful ministry with kids, from the nursery through elementary programs.
Oversee and plan for other assigned ministry needs.
- Oversee assigned programs, including Junior Teachers, Outreach efforts, etc.
- Ensure Elementary Children’s budget spending is in alignment with priorities.
Partner with parents in the discipleship of their children.
- Provide a solid teaching of the Gospel to equip kids with an understanding that can help them grow in their own personal relationship with their Lord and Savior, and also a passion to share the love of Jesus with others.
- Create a fun and safe environment for kids to feel confident in inviting friends.
- PT Non-Exempt (Coordinator)
- $18 - $20 per hour
- Kids Ministry Director
10-19 hours/week including:
- Wednesday Nights
- Regular meetings with the Kids Director
- Tuesdays:
Weekly Participation in All Staff Prayer, Training, and Weekly Prep - Regular Team Meetings, Training & Development, and Weekly Prep
- Occasional Volunteer Trainings, special events
- Participation in the life of the body through worship gatherings, etc.
- Commitment to EFCC’s Statement of Faith, Mission, & Values.
- BA/BS degree preferred (or in progress)
- Bilingual preferred
- Experience working with children
- Loves Jesus, Loves Kids
- Passionate about the gospel
- Strong communication & people skills
- Proven ability to build a team of volunteers to shepherd.
- Understanding of the nuances of working with a large group of children and possessing the spirit and demeanor to create an inviting, loving, celebratory, and directed environment.
- Sitting and standing:
The ability to remain in a stationary position for a majority of the workday is a common requirement. Occasional standing and walking to move around the office is also standard. - Fine motor skills:
Many office jobs require the use of hands for fine manipulation, such as typing on a keyboard, handling small objects, or using a computer mouse. - Vision:
Good close-up vision is necessary for activities like reading documents, reviewing data, using a computer screen for extended periods, and monitoring students and their environment. - Hearing and speech:
The ability to communicate clearly and listen to information, both in person and over the phone, is essential. - Lifting and carrying:
While heavy lifting is rare, some positions may require occasionally lifting, carrying, or moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds. This may include physical transfer of special needs students. - Other movements:
Tasks like reaching, bending, and stooping to access files or other objects may be required occasionally. - Stamina:
Ability to work in a dynamic environment that may involve constant interruptions and physical activity.
