Qualifications
Possession of a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent and one of the following:
- completion of at least two years of study (minimum 48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education;
- possession of an associate’s (or higher) degree;
- passing a rigorous assessment that demonstrates the knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics at a level meeting State and Federal requirements.
Applicants may be exempt from taking the NCLB examination if they provide college transcripts verifying 48 units or more in core subject area courses with a grade of "C" or better. Transcripts must be submitted with application. Applicants for bilingual positions must have previously passed the District's language proficiency exam.

These positions are made available for current EUSD employees only (see Merit rule 6.200.6 below). Substitutes will only be considered and will be offered assignments once priorities (a-c) are met. You must be available to work the entire summer program for which you apply; otherwise, you will not be considered for the position.
PARA EDUCATOR SPECIAL ED SCSB (Range 31)
- 8 hrs/day (schedule varies 8:00am-4:30pm)
- June 22, 2026 - July 17, 2026;
Monday - Friday;
No School July 3rd Holiday - Mandatory Prep Day (Thursday June 18, 2026) 4.0 hours (8:00 am - 12:00 pm)
- The number of positions are subject to upward or downward moving pending sufficient student enrollment.
- Shift times may change slightly. Any changes will be communicated well in advance to the start of the program.
- Employees are encouraged to apply for the SPED ESY program as well for additional opportunity for a summer assignment.
- You must be available to work the summer program for which you apply; otherwise, you will not be considered for the position.
