Help contribute to actualizing the unlimited potential of these learners by providing instructional assistance to individual or small groups of students in a classroom or other learning environment, and assisting in the supervision of students in the classroom, at lunch, or during play.
Requirements / QualificationsThe current posting is to establish an eligibility list for anticipated vacancies that may occur during the school year. Possession of a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent and one of the following:
1) completion of at least two years of study (minimum 48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education;
2) possession of an associate's (or higher) degree; or
3) passing a rigorous assessment that demonstrates the knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instruction, reading, writing, and mathematics at a level meeting State and Federal requirements. Applicants may be exempt from taking the NCLB examination if they provide college transcripts verifying 48 units or more in core subject area courses with a grade of "C" or better.
Transcripts must be submitted with application. If an applicant does not possess enough units to be exempt, he/she must attach to their application a letter requesting an examination date. Please be advised, applicants will not be able to submit their application without attaching either transcripts or a letter requesting an examination date. Candidates will be notified of their status on/ around the close of the posting.
Candidates that possess the necessary qualifications will be invited to test to get on the eligibility list for hire.

This recruitment will be used to establish an eligibility list to fill any vacancies within the life of the list (the next 6 months) during the school year. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate must subscribe to an Oath of Allegiance, submit to a general tuberculosis examination, be fingerprinted, complete a pre-placement physical examination, and show proof of their identity and right to work in the United States as conditions of employment. The District has adopted a drug free work place policy. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results from drug testing.
In order to be considered qualified for a vacancy in this classification, an applicant must possess the relevant training, education and experience required, and attain placement on the eligibility list by successfully passing all examination parts pertaining to the classification. CERTIFICATION
- When a vacant position is to be filled, the Classified Personnel Director submits to the appointing power the names of the top three "ranks." This is known as "certification," and the appointing power may select any one of the persons certified. The names of those not appointed remain on the eligibility list. ELIGIBILITY LIST
- Candidates successfully completing all phases of the application and examination process will be ranked on the appropriate eligibility list according to total examination score. This list normally is in effect for one year. EMPLOYEE SERVICE CREDIT – Employee service credit shall be added to the final composite scores in an open examination for regular employees of and those on re-employment lists for Escondido Union School District.
