Children's Choice is a well-established and growing preschool organization serving families throughout San Diego County. We are currently seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team at our Escondido location
.

Position SummaryThe Preschool Teacher is responsible for implementing age-appropriate curriculum, creating engaging learning experiences, maintaining a safe and welcoming classroom environment, and supporting children's educational and social-emotional development.
The ideal candidate has strong classroom management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to ensuring children's safety both in the classroom and during transportation. This position reports directly to the Center Director or Assistant Director.
Responsibilities- Implement the company-selected curriculum and create engaging learning experiences for preschool and school-age children.
- Develop and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with classroom themes and developmental goals.
- Create a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and inventory according to company standards and licensing requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and company policies.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress, development, and daily activities.
- Address parent concerns professionally and collaboratively.
- Work closely with fellow teachers and leadership team members to support program success.
- Ensure active supervision and safety of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities and interactions.
- Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units
, including:- Child Development
- Child, Family & Community
- One additional Child Development course (such as Program & Curriculum, Child Health & Safety, etc.)
- One Elective Child Development course
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Preschool Teacher, School-Age Teacher, or Early Childhood Educator preferred.
- Ability to pass DSS background clearance.
- Current Mandated Reporter Certification.
- Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Comfortable learning new technology and software applications.
- Adaptable and willing to work as part of a team-focused environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children.
- Availability to attend occasional staff meetings and work overtime when needed.
