Ensure adherence to maintenance schedules for respective shifts or areas. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor, regardless of severity, on the shift they occur. Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing staff when performing routine tasks in resident areas. Perform other duties as directed by your supervisor, department director, or administrator.
Maintain resident confidentiality by not disclosing protected health information and report any violations promptly. Attend departmental and staff meetings as scheduled. Follow work assignments and maintenance policies.
Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, and driveways, including tasks like trimming and sweeping. Conduct repairs on the facility and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical work, following established procedures. Clean windows and screens, replace light bulbs, and service heating/cooling units per manufacturer instructions and policies.
Handle unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed and ensure supplies are replenished. Maintain the facility and equipment to ensure resident comfort and safety. Report equipment malfunctions promptly. Follow safety protocols and assist with lifting heavy items as needed. Clean and store equipment properly at shift end.
Maintain confidentiality of resident information and report any unauthorized disclosures. Communicate clearly with residents regarding moving personal possessions when necessary.
Supervisory RequirementsThis role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications- Minimum 10th-grade education.
- Ability to follow instructions, make decisions independently, and accept constructive criticism.
- Good interpersonal skills for dealing with staff, residents, and visitors.
- Maintain proper use of supplies and equipment, and keep work areas tidy.
- Willingness to learn new maintenance methods.
- Mathematical skills to handle fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Problem-solving skills to address practical issues with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
Occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds. Prolonged use of computers. Regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, read, and hear. Assist in evacuations during emergencies if needed.
Work EnvironmentTypically low to moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
