Position: Nutrition Services Assistant II (25/26-5)

Application Requirements

Must attach a current Food Handler's Certificate from the COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO (CA state food cards will not be accepted). Certificates from other sources will NOT be accepted. Please click on the link for information on how to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate. A COMPUTER IS AVAILABLE AT THE EUSD DISTRICT OFFICE FOR APPLICANT USE IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE ON-LINE APPLICATION.

Once you have submitted an application, please monitor your email for communication from the district regarding your application status. Current employees wishing to be considered for a change in hours or change in work location must have a transfer request form on file with the district for the 2025‑26 school year.

General Requirements
  • Food Handler's Certificate (must be from the County of San Diego)
  • Subscribe to an Oath of Allegiance
  • Submit to a general tuberculosis examination
  • Be fingerprinted
  • Complete a pre-placement physical examination
  • Show proof of identity and right to work in the United States as conditions of employment
  • Adhere to a drug free workplace policy; employment is contingent upon satisfactory drug testing results
  • Possess the relevant training, education, and experience required, and attain placement on the eligibility list by successfully passing all examination parts pertaining to the classification
Certification & Eligibility List

When a vacant position is to be filled, the Classified Personnel Director submits to the appointing power the names of the top three “ranks.” This is known as “certification,” and the appointing power may select any one of the persons certified. The names of those not appointed remain on the eligibility list. Candidates successfully completing all phases of the application and examination process will be ranked on the appropriate eligibility list according to total examination score, which is normally in effect for one year.

  • Veterans preference points added to passing scores in open examinations in accordance with California Education Code Section 45196
