S UMMARY :
The Project Lead oversees all aspects of the project from contract signing through completion and closeout. Serving as the primary point of contact for the customer, this role manages communication throughout the project lifecycle while minimizing involvement from other team members. The Project Lead directs the internal team by clearly communicating and executing project scope and processes, and coordinates with external partners including utilities, building departments, financial institutions, internal labor teams, and subcontractors.

This is a nonexempt, individual contributor position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage fully designed and engineered projects of varying complexity, including PV-only systems, utility upgrades, new construction, ground mounts, high-profile projects, and multi-energy storage units.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact from contract execution through permission to operate (PTO), providing clear communication on scope, milestones, timelines, and onsite updates.
  • Translate technical information between homeowners, engineers, and field teams to ensure alignment and understanding.
  • Conduct project kick-off, including a welcome call to confirm scope and estimated timelines.
  • Prepare, present, and execute change orders; document all updates in the project management platform.
  • Coordinate funding requests for lease/loan projects to maintain schedules.
  • Interface with utilities for service upgrades, inspections, PTO, and energization.
  • Oversee subcontractors and coordinate work with internal field operations and labor teams, including pre-installation requirements and field documentation.
  • Manage scheduling with homeowners and internal departments to support installation timelines.
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure projects meet established monthly and annual production goals.
  • Perform overtime work as required and requested by supervisor to meet department and company needs.
  • First 30:
    Familiarize self with Baker Home Energy processes and timelines, be able to work independently on multiple projects
  • First 60:
    Manage Task Ray, tasking, administration and projects effectively
  • First 90:
    Fully trained, proficient in all aspects of project management, able to efficiently coordinate projects and manage workload

SUPERVISORY REPSONSIBILITIES:

  • Not applicable as this is an individual contributor role.

EXPERIENCE AND

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required, some college preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of project coordination or management experience in solar industry.
  • Proven experience leading the coordination of multiple projects with success.
  • Construction industry experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service background with the ability to communicate clearly with diverse audiences.
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, etc.).
  • Project management training or certification is a plus.

  • Electrical project complexity – Electrical (LCTI), solar, energy storage, new construction, and ground mounts
  • Ability to proficiently support various types of projects and expand technical knowledge

The starting salary fo r this opportunity range is listed . Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
